Drop Sugar Cookies


1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

1. Cream butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl. Add oil, egg, salt and vanilla.

2. Add flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda.

3. Form dough into 1 inch balls and bake at 350℉ on lightly greased cookie sheets for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes about 3 dozen

4. When cool frost with buttercream frosting:

1/4 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 TBS evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
food coloring, optional

Beat butter until creamy, add powdered sugar. When mixed together add milk, vanilla, and food coloring (if using). If too runny add more powdered sugar or if too thick add more milk.
