Ginger Snaps (Soft and Chewy)


from Sisters' Cafe

2 c. sugar
1- 1/2 cups shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (12 oz.) white chocolate chips (optional)

1. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs, and molasses well, then add the remaining ingredients.

2. Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Crystal or raw sugar is the prettiest.

3. Bake at 350℉ for 11 to 13 minutes.

Yield about 4-1/2 dozen
