Chocolate Fillers

3/4 cups butter or margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup milk chocolate chips

1. Cream butter with brown sugar and salt. Blend in flour and oats until particles are fine. Press about 2/3 of mixture into bottom of greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

2. Heat sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in microwave (about 1 minute) stir until smooth. Or heat condensed milk in saucepan; stir in chips. Carefully spread over oat mixture in pan.

3. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs; press down lightly.

4. Bake at 350℉ for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.

  1. I baked some today and the condensed milk harden too quickly before I can pour it completely. And it feels too sweetened. Is there any substitute for condensed milk?

    1. I don't know of any substitute for the sweetened condensed milk. Was your sweetened condensed milk old? I have bought it sometimes and it is too thick out of the container. Maybe try not heating it as long. Only long enough to be warm enough to melt chocolate chips. Hope this helps.
